Nestled at the heart of Brussels, the Winter Wonders Christmas market is a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. During 5 weeks, 240 wooden chalets take their winter quarters in the city centre, giving visitors an ideal opportunity to (re)discover our beautiful capital in winter.
Belgian waffles, salmon cooked on embers, artisan hot wine, Italian or Japanese delicacies... You can enjoy all of it while being surrounded by magical lights, colourful decorations and a heartwarming atmosphere. There's even an ice-skating rink for those of you who like to shake off some calories after tasting every specialty the fair has to offer.
And, of course, there's also the Christmas tree at the 'Grote Markt'. This year, the tree is a gift from Slovakia, which is still president of the European Union until the end of the year. The tree measures 22 meters and weighs 3,5 tons. It won't surprise you that it took a while to get this mastodon ready to fit the provided hole.
